The architecture of life,
From the wall that constricts,
To the barrier that surrounds,
To the invisible shield that protects,
From within we look, desire, plan, visualize and dream.
From the wall that constricts,
To the barrier that surrounds,
To the invisible shield that protects,
From within we look, desire, plan, visualize and dream.
From the perimeter, looking up and outward, the skies ever-changing play of light, contrast and mood reflects our visions of aspirations and imagination:
The Ethereal Infusion.
Process Statement
The work starts with photographs of skies and structures. I am always looking for clouds in the sky. When I fly I photograph from the window seat. A super-wide angle lens is used for many of the structural images but I am always exploring and playing the angles and composition so the lens that gives me the balance and tension is the one used. The structural images can be found in a rundown part of town or on a hectic city street.
The images are printed using an Epson 3880 or 7880 on Epson Premium Luster paper.

Next the work is cut and pasted using X-acto knives, paper trimmers, clear acrylic gel, tape and glue. I work from a sketch or mock up created from the chosen images.
The work is mounted to wood panels with a clear acrylic gel over the surface keeping the brush strokes visible, emphasizing the movement within the image.
